Week 29--Canje, Guyana
Week 10--Elder Fisher
Hello Family,
I have had a great week. I have some great spiritual experiences that I would like to share with you.
I have a testimony of diligence. Elder Fisher and I have been teaching this man names Derek for such a long time because it has been so hard to see him. For some reason, though, every time we planned to tell him that we couldn't visit him anymore, we just didn't feel that it was right. When we got to the great Apostasy, he had a very good understanding. When we talked about Joseph Smith, he loved it, and when we got to the Book of Mormon this last week, he had so many inspired answers. He said that he would be baptized because this church is true. He came to church yesterday. It is interesting that it has been three months since he was first contacted, but I am grateful we didn't give up. I am excited to continue working with him.
I loved my spiritual experience this week. On Saturday, Elder Fisher and I went over to see Prekesh, the boy whose parents won't let him be baptized. When we got there, he wasn't home, but both of his parents were, so we took the opportunity to talk to them. We told them that we have been seeing Prakesh for a long time, and that because we have been able to teach him so much, we are almost done with everything we could teach him. We told them that after that, he would be prepared to be baptized, especially since he comes to church every week and reads his Book of Mormon. We asked them if they would support him if he were to be baptized. To my surprise they responded that Prakesh is really busy at school right now, but after his exams in March, they said they would support him in being baptized. That made me so happy! The next day, after church, we went to his house again to have a lesson with him. When we told him the thing that he parents had told us, the biggest smile erupted on his face. He couldn't control it. At the end of the lesson, he fervently thanked Heavenly Father in prayer for "Letting [his] baptism come." I have loved this weekend because of that, and I know his and our prayers have been answered. We are seeing miracles.
I didn't realize the Olympics were already happening. Cheer for Guyana if they are even in the Winter Olympics.

Week 28--Canje, Guyana
Elder Fisher--Week 9
Hello Family,
This week has been a good week. We had a baptism of a child of record on Saturday. It was very nice. I found our that the church building here has a font. It's pretty sweet. The girl who got baptized isn't a convert, but the branch president asked us to teach her so that she would be ready for baptism. Today, I hit my seven month mark. It's pretty crazy, but it still feels like I've only been out a month. I went on an exchange to New Amsterdam on Tuesday. That apartment is really nice. The water pressure is incredible, so taking a shower there is awesome. It's like a fire hose, but not has powerful. I've never felt so clean.
My spiritual experience this week was on Thursday. We had a first key lesson with a woman named Shevaun. That day, we hadn't even told her for sure if we would be able to come because it was a busy day, but we had a fall-through, so we decided to pay her a visit. When we got to her house, she was already outside waiting for us with the restoration tract. She said she had been waiting for us to come and visit her. We began to have a lesson with her, and she was able to teach us some wonderful things about religion and God. She said, "We all need some sort of spirituality in life, He created me because he loves us, and he wants us to have happiness." When she said the prayer at the end of the lesson, she expressed her surprise and thanks to Heavenly Father for sending us to show her the truth. That was a very nice lesson. It really made my day great, and I am so grateful for what she was able to teach me.
